!!! HELLO MY COLOURFUL WORLD!!!
YES IT'S TRUE!!! I am an addict-a COLOR ADDICT!!!!
There is NOTHING in this earthly orb of ours that I love more than COLOR! !! IT IS MY ABSOLUTE PASSION !! There's something about it that excites me when I'm surrounded by it; it somehow tickles that "big something" in me that makes me want to veer off whatever path I'm on and take the one with all the colored bricks! Something about color TURNS ME ON! and strange as that may sound, it's the truth and it can sound however it wants.....what it does to me creatively far outweighs any strangeness as far as I'm concerned. If the result is a beautiful creation, then what else really matters?
My name is Rhona and I'm an artist who works of of my home in beautiful Sarasota, FL. People are always asking me " What kind of art do you do? " and I sort of take a deep breath and say, " All kinds." I pencil draw, am a gift card-maker; I make mosaics and I work with clay; I create painted plywood wall hangings AND 'critters' (see link below), I paint acrylic on canvas, I've got a gift basket endeavor where I make personalized gifts that are beautiful (see link below); I decoupage and decorate boxes my artistic 'Wish Boxes', I've tried to teach myself stained glass and realize I need a teacher!; I make jewelry for people AND animals, I'm a designer, a painter and maybe, one day,a candlestick maker! You never know! My more unusual 'art habits' are treasure hunting around the neighborhood and making 'Treasure out of Trash' (VERY cool; no, I don't jump into dumpsters or dive into trash cans, but I DO pick up some very 'usable' and 'treasure-quality' "trash" that's just dying to be something PRETTY) ; I just finished doing a mosaic (for lack of a better word) on a 'wooden purse' where I did a 'free-form' mosaic inside the purse, and a colorful "candy bone" mosaic on the outside of the purse! It's really something to see! Even MORE entertaining would've been the sight of me with all my little quarters squatting in front of the candy machine with my baggie ready to catch the 'goods' and getting $3.00 worth of very cool, very colorful candies in the shape of DOG BONES!.....it's really something worth taking a look at!
